Building on Bitcoin and Lightning does not necessarily have to be extremely hard, and/or costly. If you’re an African software developer interested in building on Bitcoin and the Lightning Network, there are a few technical requirements and tools you’ll need to get started. Here is an overview of what you’ll need:
- Basic programming skills: Building on Bitcoin and the Lightning Network requires some basic programming skills. You should have a good understanding of programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, as well as web development frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Knowledge of Bitcoin and the Lightning Network: To build on top of Bitcoin and the Lightning Network, you’ll need to have a good understanding of how these technologies work. This includes understanding how the Bitcoin blockchain operates, how transactions are verified and recorded, and how the Lightning Network enables off-chain transactions.
